The Serious Business Academy is a small business development initiative targeting entrepreneurs and other minority small businesses operating in the Tampa Bay area with several resources and advanced training opportunities. These include but are not limited to: business plans & start-up, marketing & expansion, loan facilitation, DBE, MBE, WMBE certifications, financial reporting, Quick Books business credit, banking relationships, and credit education micro grants (availability may vary). Businesses are assessed and categorized into three different levels. After an assessment, businesses are provided with group training, individual coaching, and opportunities to increase their knowledge and resources for growth via cohort- and accelerator-style learning.
After cohorts have successfully completed the SBA, we would like to create a membership framework, where there will be an affordable cost assessed in order to participate. That membership will include the following exclusive perks: Access to mentors and/or industry specific experts that can help grow their business; co-work space; access to capital to expand their business; and assistance with helping members apply for city and government contracting opportunities.

Federally funded and monitored by the Department of Labor, the Urban Seniors Jobs Program (USJP), also known as Senior Community Services Employment Program (SCSEP), is designed to provide subsidized employment training opportunities to low-income individuals aged 55 and older who are currently unemployed and actively seeking employment opportunities. The program offers part-time training opportunities, providing seniors with a structured pathway to re-enter the workforce.
Eligible job seekers must reside in one of the six counties served: Hernando, Pasco, Lake, Seminole, Sumter, or Marion.

The Next Level Urban Alliance (NLUA) is a network of entrepreneurs, professionals, and development leaders collaborating to expand the equity-focused entrepreneurial ecosystem (E3) of Pinellas County. The goal of the Alliance is to strengthen entrepreneurship as a vital pathway to economic growth for African Americans.

The Pinellas Academy of Second Chances is an initiative aimed at supporting individuals who have been previously incarcerated to build entrepreneurial skills, foster self-sufficiency, and reintegrate successfully into society through entrepreneurship.
Participants will engage in workshops, mentorship, and practical exercises to develop their business awareness and lay the foundation for launching their own business.
